The station is located in Wangsheren Street, Jinan City, Shandong Province, which is a large regional hub in China.  

The roof of this high-speed railway station is a saddle-shaped hyperboloid with the north and south sides tilted. The maximum span between south and north is 140m (the distance between the feet of inclined columns is 176.3m), and the height is 26.3m (relative to the 9m elevation). 

项目概述：济青高铁位于山东半岛中北部，线路西起济南市，经滨州、淄博、潍坊，东至青岛市，线路西端衔接京沪高铁、石济客专，东端连接青荣城际、胶济客专、青连铁路，是山东半岛胶济铁路通道沿线地区对外交流的主通道。济南东客站位于济南市历城区纸房村范围内，是济青高铁起点站，也是连接济青高铁、石济客专的重要枢纽车站，其下部地铁站是济南轨道交通 R3 线的重要站点。济南东客站站房工程建筑面积 72000m2，包括高架候车厅、南站房与北站房。站房主体结构布置分为高架候车厅、南站房与北站房三部分。高架候车厅部分地上 2 层，地下 1 层，局部 2 层，其中地上一层为站台层，地上二层为候车厅，地下一层为地下出站通廊与综合换乘通道，局部地下二层为地铁主体结构。南北站房地上 2 层，地下二层，其中地上一层为进站大厅、落客区

与管理用户，地上 2 层为机房、进站口等功能区，地下一层为地铁、公交用房，地下二层为停车场。
